A Refreshing Break

The past week was refreshing to get a break from schoolwork. Thanksgiving was strange this year as I remained home to care for my mother. I went into the clinic full time most of the week and was able to help more patients and practice communication skills with more hours in the clinic. Though I have been putting in hours during the school week, working and treating patients all day has a different effect. I was truly able to practice adjusting and adapting to individualize care and communication. I was also able to have more casual conversations with providers about their views on communication and patient relationships.
All that being said, I am still working through my research. I have begun planning and drafts of my paper. I am excited for the following weeks to wrap up on finding sources and solidify the direction of my paper. Overall, I am working to balance work, school, and home life as I continue to help my mother recover from surgery. I have a few major deadlines approaching with college applications and projects for school so finding that balance is of the utmost importance. I am excited to see what is in store for the next couple of weeks.
